Deschutes Jubel Ale
Winter Beer Drinking Season officially arrives when that first keg of Jubel Ale is kicked off at the Horse Brass each autumn. We think of Jubel as the quintessential winter warmer, and on the night Jubel is released, the Horse Brass Pub takes on its magical warm glow, promising a season of good times and good friends.
Dechutes master brewer Dr. Bill Pengelly describes Jubel as having a "...very large malt body and pronounced hop bitterness." They entered Jubel in the Great American Beer Festival where it has captured the Gold Medal from among a host of excellent beers.
The aroma is of cocoa and milk chocolate. The palate envinces the practice of dry hopping during conditioning and the finish is pleasantly sweet with a hop tang. Krausening (adding yeast and un-fermented wort to the bottles) insures freshness and extended shelf life.
Available in bottles at Belmont Station and on draught at the Horse Brass Pub, as well as other places around town.
OG 1056, alcohol by weight 4.5%.
Oregon Brewed by Deschutes Brewery.
